1. What is the capacity of the Batter container and how much sevai can be made in one step?

The capacity of batter container is 800 ml and the cooked sevai weighs approximately 800 to 1000 grams.

2. What happens when someone forgets to pour enough Water at the bottom vessel?

Normally 800 ml (4 1/2 cups) of Water is recommended for one cycle of cooking. But if there is not enough water in the bottom vessel, it will get over heated and the gasket in the piston begins to get damaged with a charring smell.

3. What does one do if there is raw smell in the cooked sevai?

This does not normally happen with good quality rice. If observed, secondary steaming is recommended to remove this raw smell.

4. Are the plastic parts of SevaiMagik safe to use?

The plastic used in SevaiMagik has been made from high quality ABS and Polypropylene. These materials are food-safe, non-toxic and of engineering grade.

5. Can one make smaller quantity of sevai in SevaiMagik?

Yes, by varying the quantity of Batter in the container one can make the required quantity of sevai.

6. Water comes out of the holes in the Extrusion Die during the initial stages of extrusion. Is this a problem?

No, this is not a problem. This is only the residual steam that gets condensed and you will continue to get tasty sevai within minutes

7. Can we use Ready-mix flour available in the market to make sevai?

Yes, but make sure that the quality of the flour is good and consumable. Mix sufficient quantity of water to the flour to make a paste of batter before cooking. Resort to Secondary steaming if raw smell is observed in the extruded sevai.

8. What is the standard time duration of making sevai?

Please refer to the Recommended Cooking cycle chart for different grains given in the manual.

9. Can we cook additional food stuff (like eggs or vegetables) during sevai making in the SevaiMagik?

No.

10. Can it be used as a regular pressure cooker ?

Yes, it can be used as pressure cooker, rice, dhal, vegetables can be cooked.
